Open Call LA exists to give you a platform to make what you want to make. We are not here to take advantage of anyone, ever. Here is exactly how we handle your information and what we expect from everyone in the community.

What we do with your info

What's Public

Your directory profile shows your name, school, roles, availability, portfolio link, and the contact method you chose to share so collaborators can reach you. You decide what goes on your profile.

You Control It

Only share what you're comfortable making public. Prefer to stay reachable another way? List your Instagram or a project email instead of a personal number. Want something changed or removed? Message us on Discord and it's done, no questions asked.

Updating Your Info

Resubmit the join form anytime and your latest answers take over. Want off the directory entirely? Message us on Discord and we'll remove you promptly.

No Selling, No Sharing

We never sell your information or share it with third parties. Forms run through Google Forms, and data lives with the Open Call LA team only.

How we keep this space safe

Everyone Agrees To

  • Be transparent about roles, time commitment, and compensation before anyone signs on
  • Credit people clearly and appropriately on every project
  • Keep all content and conduct appropriate. This is a respectful space for everyone
  • Respect boundaries, on set and off, in every context
  • Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or predatory behavior of any kind

Smart Collaboration

  • Use the Discord for early coordination, and move off-platform only when you feel comfortable
  • Meeting someone new for a project? Meet in a public place first, and consider bringing a friend to first meetings or shoots
  • Look at people's portfolios and talk before committing to anything
  • Open Call LA connects people. It does not employ, vet, or supervise collaborations, so use your judgment and trust your gut

See Something? Say Something

  • If anyone in this community makes you feel unsafe or taken advantage of, tell us immediately via Discord
  • Reports are handled discreetly, and people who violate these guidelines are removed
